CA Privileged Access Manager (PAM)

Issue/Introduction

Migrated the infrastructure that manages Session Recording on the PAM side, specifically from Hitachi NAS Platform (HNAS) technology to NetApp FAS8300 Storage Array metrocluster version 9.16.1P9. The migration resulted in the servers (Cluster of 4 servers) being down due to excessive CPU usage, which required them to be rebooted and the Session Recording configuration to be rolled back.

Environment

PAM 4.2.1

Cause

Low appliances memory resources, only 32 Gb, NO patches over PAM 4.2.1 and SMB version 2

Resolution

Upgrade appliance memory resources from 32Gb to 64Gb and all nodes to 8 cpus

Install patches 4.2.1.10 and 4.2.1.19 as this fixes a cpu excessive usage issue

Recommended SMB 3.0
