Issue/Introduction

Users may encounter an issue where the generated alert time is delayed (for example, by an hour) compared to the actual time of the event. To effectively troubleshoot and identify the source of this discrepancy, specific debug logging must be enabled for the alert generator service.

Environment

  • Product: Automation Analytics & Intelligence (AAI)

  • Version: 24.x or higher

Cause

The root cause is undetermined until further troubleshooting is performed. Additional debug logging is required to capture the exact behavior of the alert generation process.

Resolution

To troubleshoot this issue, you must enable DEBUG level logging for the specific alert generator component.

Steps to enable debugging:

  1. Open the AAI Config tool.

  2. Navigate to Logging > All Loggers.

  3. Click on Add by name.

  4. Add the following logger name exactly as written: com.termalabs.alert.services.generator.JobStreamAlertGenerator

  5. Change the logging Level to DEBUG.

Data Collection for Support: If the delayed alert issue reoccurs after enabling the debug logging, please gather the following information and provide it to Support:

  • The exact name of the affected jobstream.

  • A screenshot clearly showing the time discrepancy (e.g., demonstrating that the alert is delayed for an hour).

  • The full set of AAI logs covering the timeframe of the delayed alert.
