Azure PAYG Data Collection Requirements for CSP-Managed Subscriptions

Issue/Introduction

When attempting to collect Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) billing data for an Azure subscription that is already managed by a Partner Center (CSP), you may encounter issues where the data is not being ingested by the platform.

A common point of confusion is whether the platform supports a direct Azure configuration at the channel customer level—specifically by assigning the Reader role to a subscription managed by a Partner Center(CSP)—without formally configuring the Partner Center connection at the partner level.

Resolution

PAYG billing collection is strictly governed by the quota type of the subscription.
The system automatically excludes any subscriptions with a CSP quota type from the PAYG collection process.

To successfully collect data for your Azure subscriptions, please adhere to the following requirements:

• Supported Quota Types: For the platform to process PAYG collection, the subscription must be set to one of the following valid quota types:
• PayAsYouGo
• FreeTrial
• MSDNDevTest

Unsupported Types: Subscriptions with a CSP quota type are excluded from PAYG collection. If your subscription is managed under a CSP agreement, it must be ingested through the standard Partner Center integration rather than as a direct PAYG configuration.
