Issue/Introduction

In Tanzu Hub v10.4, you can now receive all logs from the EAR platform using the OTel collector. This can be achieved by utilizing the Platform Services tile. The 'All Logs' setting in the Platform Services Connector orchestrates the telemetry pipeline. Because EAR 10.4+ uses a node-level OTel collector, the configuration must be materialized through the platform's standard deployment process (Applying Changes).

Resolution

Setting the "automatic forwarding" option to All Logs in the Platform Services 10.4 Tile Connector will automatically configure the OTel section of the EAR tile to forward platform logs to Tanzu Hub. Steps on how to set this up are described in the document.  

Note: Changes to OTel configurations in the EAR tile are not dynamic and require a redeploy of the affected VMs (such as Diego Cells) to update the OTel collector's local configuration files.
