Issue/Introduction

• The following error occurs when importing a template OVA into VMware Cloud Director (VCD) using a URL:
  
  OVF descriptor file size cannot be greater than 12,582,912 bytes. Size of provided OVF is <OVA size in bytes>.

Environment

VMware Cloud Director

Cause

This is an expected behavior as VCD does not import OVA from URL.

Resolution

To import a template online into VCD, provide the URL of the OVF instead of OVA.
