Issue/Introduction

When attempting to register a platform (such as Tanzu Operations Manager or Tanzu Application Service) or enable specific capabilities within Tanzu Hub, the connection fails with an error similar to:

'Error during credentials validation (401): Unauthorized'

Environment

Tanzu Hub

Cause

This issue typically occurs when the user provides the Tanzu API Token instead of the UAA Refresh Token.

Resolution

Navigate to the Broadcom Token page: https://support.broadcom.com/group/ecx/tanzu-token.

Locate the UAA Token (Refresh Token).

Copy this token and use it in the Tanzu Hub registration field.

Additional Information

If the "401: Unauthorized" error persists even after using the correct UAA Refresh Token, please verify the following:

- Generate a new UAA Refresh Token from the portal to ensure the current one hasn't expired.

- Ensure the Broadcom account associated with the token has the correct permission for the specific components or tiles you are trying to access.
