VCF Operations for Networks

Issue/Introduction

  • Upgrading VCF Operations for Networks from 6.14.1 to 6.14.2 fails to start.
  • The GUI displays the error message: Already on specified version or higher 6.14.2.25197548.
  • The System Dashboard or Infrastructure UI reports: Node Version Mismatch detected.
  • The Platform node remains on version 6.14.1, while the Collector (Proxy) node reports version 6.14.2.
  • You can confirm the version by logging into each Platform and Collector nodes using consoleuser  and executing the CLI command:
    show version

NOTE:  VCF Operations for Networks was formerly named Aria Operations for Networks (AON), and prior to that was named vRealize Network Insight (vRNI).

Environment

VCF Operations for Networks 6.14.1

VCF Operations for Networks 6.14.2

Cause

The upgrade pre-check fails due to a version mismatch caused by deploying a 6.14.2 Collector against a 6.14.1 Platform.

Resolution

  1. Deploy a new Collector node running version 6.14.1.

  2. Migrate all existing data sources to the newly deployed 6.14.1 Collector.

  3. Delete the mismatched 6.14.2 Collector node from the environment.

  4. Retry the 6.14.2 upgrade process.

Note: The upgrade may proceed automatically once the version mismatch is fully resolved.
