Issue/Introduction

Message appears in Step 13 of Recovery plan:

Failed to promote replica devices. Timed out (300 seconds) while waiting for SRA to complete failover command

Environment

VMware Live Site Recovery 9.0.2

Cause

The warning points to a communication issue with SRA,  updating tasks on the storage side.

Resolution

It would be recommended to look into the following:

• Check the VLSR advanced settings parameter Site Pair >storage> storage.commandTimeout. Increase to 600,900 accordingly.

• Rescan the SRA storage devices.

• Check the Network Time Protocol settings across the appliances to ensure that they are matching.

• Re-deploy the SRA in VLSR VAMI.
