Critical error on page while opening CMDB tasks: Update Network Resource Location or Update Organizational Hierarchy

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading from ITMS 8.8 to ITMS 8.8.1 version, " A critical error has occurred on this page. Check the Altiris Logs for more information" appears while opening the following pages for these two CMDB tasks:

Navigate to - Manage >> Jobs and Tasks >> System Jobs and Tasks >>  Service and Asset Management  >> CMDB 

Update Network Resource Location
Update Organizational Hierarchy

Error on the SMP Console:

" A critical error has occurred on this page. Check the Altiris Logs for more information"

The following errors are seen in NS logs:

Page initialization failed

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   [NullReferenceException @ Altiris.TaskManagement.dll]
   at Altiris.TaskManagement.UI.ParamControls.CheckBoxBoolCtrl.set_ParameterValue(object)
   at Altiris.AssetContractCommon.Operation.Controls.TaskEditOperationControl.Bind(IBaseTask)
   at Altiris.AssetContractCommon.Operation.Controls.TaskEditOperationControl.ResetControl(IBaseTask)
   at Altiris.TaskManagement.Web.ManageTask.InitializeControls()
