Issue/Introduction

  • After a successful upgrade to VCF 9.0, the VCF Operations (formerly Aria Operations) user interface displays a message: "VCF Operations is not registered. To access your license, register VCF Operations with VCF Business Service Console."
  • The administrator may not have an account or access permissions for the VCF Business Service Console (https://vcf.broadcom.com).

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0.x

Cause

VCF 9.0 introduces a centralized licensing model. VCF Operations must be registered with the cloud-based VCF Business Service Console (https://vcf.broadcom.com) to activate its full feature set and manage license entitlements. Access to this console is managed through the Broadcom Support Portal and requires specific user permissions.

Resolution

To resolve this, you must first gain access to the console and then complete the registration process.

Step 1: Obtain Access to the VCF Business Service Console

  1. Identify your Site Administrator: Access to https://vcf.broadcom.com is granted by your organization's Support Site Administrator.
  2. Request Access: Ask your Site Administrator to add your Broadcom Support Portal account to the VCF Business Service Console.

Step 2: Register the VCF Operations Instance

  1. Once access is granted, log in to the VCF Business Service Console.
  2. Navigate to License Management > VCF Operations Registrations.
  3. Follow the prompts to register your local VCF Operations instance. For detailed step-by-step instructions, refer to the Register VCF Operations Documentation.

Step 3: Follow the instructions in Add a License to VCF Operations to synchronize VCF Operations with the VCF Business Service Console.
