Integration of VCF Adapter in VCF Operations Fails with Error “Failed to create VCF cloud account. Management Domain details is null” in VVF Environment

Issue/Introduction

While configuring the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) adapter in VCF Operations, the integration fails with the error:

“Failed to create VCF cloud account. Management Domain details is null.”

This occurs during the adapter creation workflow and prevents successful integration.

Environment

• VCF Operations 9.x.x
• VMware vSphere Foundation (VVF) environment

Cause

This behavior is expected when attempting to configure the VCF adapter in VCF Operations for a VVF environment. VVF does not include VMware SDDC Manager, which is required by the VCF adapter to retrieve Management Domain details. As a result, the adapter cannot gather the necessary information and fails with the reported error

Resolution

To monitor vCenter Server in VCF Operations within a VVF environment, use the vCenter Server Adapter instead of the VCF adapter.
