Issue/Introduction

VCF Operations 9.0.2 doesn't show the license of a connected vCenter 8.0 under License Management > Licenses for the Pre-Version 9 licenses:

The vCenter Server is added under Integrations > Accounts and Status is showing as "Collecting".
Adding the license in VCF Operations with "Add License Key" failed as the license is already added:

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0

Cause

The used vCenter service account configured in the vCenter adapter has insufficient privileges.

Resolution

To expose Pre-version 9 (legacy) licensing data from a connected vCenter 8.0 instance within the VCF Operations (formerly Aria Operations) console, the service account configured in the vCenter adapter must possess explicit global licensing privileges.

The default read-only system role (System.Anonymous, System.View, System.Read) does not grant visibility into the license manager API endpoints. A custom role must be assigned to the VCF Operations service account containing the following specific privilege:

Privilege Name: Global.Licenses (or Global.Licenses in the API)

Required Assignment Level: Root vCenter Server level with the Propagate to children option enabled.
