When you attempt to upgrade to VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Operations 9.0.x using VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle, the Fleet Management Node Validations Precheck fails.
The Operations-Appliance-9.0.#.#.########.ova file is mapped in the Binary Mapping.
The following error message is displayed in the precheck results:
Failed: Management Node VA file is not present
This issue occurs when you map an incorrect binary file in Aria Suite Lifecycle for the VCF Operations upgrade.
The VCF Operations 9.0.# upgrade workflow introduces a new architecture that requires a specific VCF-OPS-Lifecycle-Manager-Appliance OVA to deploy the Fleet Management node. The precheck specifically looks for this Fleet Management-specific Virtual Appliance (VA) file to satisfy the "Fleet Management Node source mapping check" validation.
Mapping the standard Operations analytics node OVA (e.g., Operations-Appliance-9.0.#.#.########.ova) instead of the required Lifecycle Manager OVA causes this precheck to fail, because the standard Operations appliance does not contain the necessary components for the Fleet Management node.
To resolve this issue, you must download the specific VCF Operations Lifecycle Manager Appliance OVA and map it within Aria Suite Lifecycle.
