HCX Cloud Manager upgrade fails with compute profile retrieval error in SDDC UI

Issue/Introduction

HCX upgrade from 4.11.3 to 4.11.4 failing within the SDDC Manager UI. The following error is observed during the validation phase:


"HCX Cloud Manager failed to upgrade on this SDDC with error: Failed to check for WANTOPT service during validation. Error Unexpected response: GET /hybridity/api/interconnect/computeProfiles Failed to parse compute profile response"

 

Environment

VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), HCX 4.11.x.

 

Cause

  

The HCX Manager is unable to successfully retrieve the compute profile configuration from the cloud side during the upgrade validation process.

 

Resolution


Log in to the HCX Cloud Manager Appliance Management interface (port 9443).

Navigate to the Administration tab and verify the status of the HCX services.

Ensure that the Appliance Management and Interconnect services are in a 'Running' state.

Attempt to manually refresh the Compute Profile within the HCX Interconnect UI to verify connectivity to the underlying vCenter Server.

If the GET request continues to fail with an unexpected response, restart the HCX specialized services via the Appliance Management UI or CLI using systemctl restart webapp.

Re-run the upgrade validation from the SDDC Manager UI.
