Unable to install VMware Container Networking with Antrea 1.x

Issue/Introduction

You are unable to install VMware Container Networking with Antrea 1.x. The installation fails or cannot be completed because the integration environment or image repositories are outdated or incorrectly configured.

Environment

• VMware Container Networking with Antrea 1.x

• Supervisor clusters with NSX networking

• VKS clusters

Cause

This issue occurs due to the following configuration factors:

• The primary host for pulling images has changed to projects.packages.broadcom.com. Older URLs like projects.registry.vmware.com are no longer in use.

• Manual registration and deployment for Antrea-NSX integration are no longer supported.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, perform the following steps:

1. Generate access tokens and download the Antrea image manually. For detailed instructions, refer to Knowledge Base Article 421110.

2. Configure your environment to use projects.packages.broadcom.com as the primary host for pulling images. Do not use legacy URLs. For more information, refer to Knowledge Base Article 426904.

3. Use the NSX operator in your Supervisor cluster to handle the registration automation. Ensure the NSX operator utilizes the same NSX instance as the Supervisor cluster.

Additional Information

• Note: Antrea-NSX integration currently only supports Supervisor clusters with NSX networking and VKS clusters.
