Issue/Introduction

ESXi hosts in a vCenter Server environment consistently display the following warning:

"/usr/sbin/esxupdate returned with exit status: 15"

VMware ESXi 8.0.x

Cause

The datastore datastore name-######### (UUID: #########-...) is in an abnormal or inaccessible state, causing a fatal exception in the ESXi management agents during a standard volume scan.

Resolution

Need to fix abnormal or inaccessible datastore issue.
