Import failed: Validation failed: Could not create Management Module because the name "<management module name>" is already in use.

Issue/Introduction

While uploading a Management Module, I found a configuration issue, I fixed it and now I am unable to reupload the Management Module, I get error:

Import failed: Validation failed: Could not create Management Module because the name "<name>" is already in use.

Environment

DX O2

Cause

• Browser cache issue
• Failure of importing the management module caused an internal inconsistency

 

Resolution

For example the management module you are unable to upload is named : "test.jar"

Here are the steps required to successfully import the APM management module:

1. Manually create a Management Module called "test", use some dummy values for the agent regular expression.
2. Delete the newly created Management module
3. Upload the correct "test.jar" , this time the importing management module process will succeed
