Monitor Oracle ASM File Systems using Spectrum
An Oracle ASM File System uses disk groups to store data files. An ASM disk group is a collection of disks that ASM manages as a unit. Within a disk group, ASM exposes a file system interface for oracle database files.
Release: Any version of Spectrum
Component:
By default Spectrum relies on the File System Data reported back by the Operating System via the RFC2790 MIB (Host Resources MIB). If the Oracle ASM disk Space is not reported back via RFC2790, you will need to have an agent installed on the Oracle system that can be configured to monitor the ASM disk space. This in turn can trigger SNMP traps to Spectrum when a threshold violation has occurred.
