Symantec IDM 15.0 Exception during page display

Issue/Introduction

The IDM V15.0 environment is encountering an outage whenever the front end starts throwing the error “Exception during page display….!

Exception during page display:

java.lang.NullPointerException: Cannot invoke "jakarta.faces.context.ResponseWriter.startDocument()" because "responseWriter" is null

 

Environment

IGA V 15.0

Cause

The IDM was throwing the Null Pointer Exception on one of the HTML components (HtmlProgressIndicatorRenderer).  MyFace context gets closed because of the NPE, but still IDM was trying to write on the JSP page.

Resolution

As the IDM was trying to write on a JSP page. The Engineering Team handled the NPE by providing an HF.

Please raise a support ticket for the HF.
