Issue/Introduction

Performing an inventory sync of vIDM in Aria Lifecycle fails with the error code LCMVIDM74073 and a warning similar to:

VMware Identity Manager node is not patched to the latest patch version. Please apply the vIDM patch and retry.

Aria Lifecycle 8.x

vIDM 3.3.7

Cause

The cause of this issue is an incorrect patch installation sequence.

The patch instructions specify that the vIDM appliance must be patched first.

Applying the patch out of order breaks the operational dependency between the two products, leading to the failure of Day 2 operations.

Resolution

Open a support case with Broadcom referencing this article 437343 and include the exact versions of Aria Lifecycle and vIDM plus details of any patching activity.
