Issue/Introduction

After purchasing a 10Gbps throughput license for your PacketShaper appliance, the Broadcom Support Portal may still display your current 5Gbps license (SKU: PS-S500-5GH) as the active entitlement. To utilize the increased capacity, you must manually initiate the license upgrade within the portal to generate the new license key.

Resolution

  • Locate your Appliance: Log in to the Broadcom Support Portal and navigate to your asset list. Select the Serial Number of the appliance you wish to upgrade.

  • Navigate to Upgrade Tab: In the appliance management view, click on the Upgrade tab located in the secondary navigation menu.

  • Initiate Upgrade:

    • Under the Upgrade Appliance section, look for the Available Upgrade Part Number(s).

    • Select the radio button for the new throughput tier (e.g., PS-S500-10GH).

    • Check the box to Accept the End User License Agreement.

    • Click the Upgrade button

  • Once the upgrade is processed in the portal:

    1. Go to the Download License tab to retrieve your new 10Gbps license file/key.

    2. Install the license on your PacketShaper appliance.

    3. Verify the new throughput limits are reflected in the appliance dashboard.

Note: If the 10Gbps part number does not appear under the Upgrade tab, please verify that your purchase has been fully processed or contact Broadcom Customer Care with your Order Number and Site ID.
