Nutanix Only - ESXi Patching Remediation Pre-check fails with CD must be disconnected on Nutanix CVM

Issue/Introduction

When trying to upgrade or patch ESXi via the vCenter Update Manager, the Remediation Pre-check fails with error "CD must be disconnected" for Nutanix CVM

Environment

vSphere 8.x

Cause

Nutanix CVMs have a CD that cannot be disconnected

Resolution

Workaround

1. Put the ESXi Host into Maintenance Mode
2. Once all of the UVMs have migrated off of that Host, power off the CVM:
3. nutanix@CVM:~$ cvm_shutdown -P now
4.  Once the Maintenance Mode operation has completed on the Host, change DRS to manual mode
5. Re-run the upgrade/remediation pre-check- it should pass
6. After the upgrade is complete, set DRS back to fully automated
7. Repeat steps 1-5 for each Host that still needs to be upgraded in this way
