Issue/Introduction

When using the Management Pack Builder in multi-node VCF Operations environments, users may encounter the error message "DesignStatus for Design ID [UUID] does not exist" after initiating an Install.

Environment

VCF Operations 9.0

Cause

The design status is saved on only one node. The UI's request for design status is routed to a random node in the VCF Operations cluster. The error appears if the request routes to a node lacking the design status.

Resolution

  • Despite the UI error, the management pack installation should proceed.
  • Users can proceed with using the management pack and updating the design as usual.

NOTE: Restart the casa service in the primary node if you receive this error in the UI and you are unable to take the cluster offline in the Admin UI or cancel the management pack installation.

    • Casa client error: Could not run upload request: 500
    • SSH as root to the primary node and run service vmware-casa restart
    • The admin UI will be temporarily unavailable while the service is restarting.

Restarting the casa service will stop the installation and restore cluster functionality.
