Issue/Introduction

In VCF Operations, users may encounter an issue where log collection for a VCF Operations for Networks (NI) adapter instance is reported as “Log Collection is not enabled.

When attempting to edit the log collection for VCF Operations for Networks configuration from the Log Collection page, the UI may display a blank screen or an infinite loading spinner, preventing access to the configuration settings.

Environment

  • VCF Operations 9.0.x
  • VCF Operations for Logs 9.0.x
  • VCF Operations for Networks 9.0.x

Cause

This issue occurs due to a stale or inconsistent log configuration entry in the backend database. If Log Collection was previously enabled for VCF Operations for Networks and the adapter is later removed and re-added, a component ID mismatch can occur. This results in a stale entry in the database, causing the UI to fail when loading the configuration page.

Resolution

The workaround requires removal of the stale log configuration entry from the database and reconfigure log collection. For required database modifications, please open a Support Request with Broadcom Technical Support and cite this Article ID (437246) in the problem description.
