VCF Operations for Networks VMware vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.x

Issue/Introduction

  • Upgrade from version 6.14.0 to 6.14.2 fails during the pre-check phase.
  • Error message in VMware Lifecycle Manager (LCM): com.vmware.vrealize.lcm.plugin.core.vrni.common.exception.VRNIUpgradeCheckStatusException: Error occurred while checking upgrade pre-check status.
  • Pre-check message contains: {"msg" : "Service health check failed on [Node ID]", "id" : "ServiceHealthCheckTask", "title" : "Service health check"}.
  • In the Platform GUI, the quorumpeermain service is shown as not healthy on Platform1.
  • The upgrade may also fail with disk space errors if old support bundles are present.

  • VCF Operations for Networks 6.14.x
  • VCF Operations for Networks 6.13.x

Cause

The upgrade pre-check fails if the Zookeeper (QuorumPeerMain) service is not in a healthy state or if the node lacks sufficient disk space to process the upgrade bundle.

Resolution

This is a known issue impacting VCF Operations for Networks (Formerly Aria Operations for Networks)
