Issue/Introduction

After upgrading a secondary Linux hub to UIM 23.4 CU7, the hub probe fails to start.

  • The hub.log or controller log shows the message: Max. restarts reached for probe 'hub'.
  • The hub may remain in a red status in Infrastructure Manager (IM) or Admin Console (AC).
  • The upgrade may have been attempted via distsrv in IM or Automated Deployment Engine (ADE) in AC with the same result.

Environment

DX Unified Infrastructure Management (UIM) 23.4 CU7
Secondary Hubs on Linux distributions

Cause

The Linux server is running an outdated version of the glibc library. Starting with UIM 23.4 CU7, the required version of glibc has changed to 2.22 to meet new auto-certification standards for Linux distributions.

Resolution

  • Upgrade the glibc package on the Linux server to version 2.22 or higher.  You may need to work with your System Administrator to update the glibc library to at least version 2.22.
  • Restart UIM Services:
    • After the update, restart the robot
  • Verify Stability:
    • Confirm the hub probe now starts and maintains a "Started" state without crashing.
