Issue/Introduction

Installation of CA WADE 12 Desktop Client fails with a popup box:

Invalid CA Workload Automation R12.0 Desktop client port

                        Error!!

Cause

The installer looks for the hostname in the local hosts file:  <System root>\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

If there is an entry (IP and host name ) in this file for the local machine which does not correspond to the IP address defined in the DNS, this error message is raised

Resolution

If the machine is defined in the DNS, remove the entry of the local machine from this <System root>\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file
