Issue/Introduction

When trying to log into NSX manager UI, it is giving the message "Some appliance components are not functioning properly. Component health: Unknown. Error code: 101"

Cause

The NSX Manager appliances are assigned to an incorrect VLAN or Network Adapter. This network isolation prevents the manager nodes from communicating with the primary node across different clusters, causing the cluster health to report as "unknown."

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must ensure all NSX Manager appliances are on the correct network segment:

  1. Log in to the vSphere Client.

  2. Locate the impacted NSX Manager virtual machines.

  3. Right-click the VM and select Edit Settings.

  4. Under the Virtual Hardware tab, locate the Network Adapter.

  5. Change the network selection to the Port Group used by the rest of the NSX management cluster.

  6. Verify connectivity by performing a ping test between all manager nodes.

  7. Refresh the NSX UI to confirm the "Component health" returns to a functional state.
