Multiple Tags Per Scope error during SSP CSV import

Issue/Introduction

During CSV-based segmentation import in SSP, users may encounter warnings indicating that an asset has multiple tags assigned for the same scope (e.g., Application, Environment, Tier).


Symptoms

• SSP analysis shows warning:

“Multiple Tags Per Scope”

• May also be accompanied by:

“Tag Conflict”

• Same asset (IP/VM) appears multiple times in CSV with different values for the same scope

SSP : 5.1 , 5.1.1

Cause

This warning typically appears when specific Virtual Machines (VMs) or assets are mapped to multiple applications. In such designs, the system flags that multiple tags are being assigned within the same scope.

Resolution

This is expected behavior and does not prevent the publication of the segmentation policy. If the design intentionally maps assets to multiple applications, these warnings can be reviewed and confirmed as part of the intended configuration. No further action is required if the mapping is accurate.
