Issue/Introduction

This is a tech doc detailing how alarm filters created for an individual user in Spectrum OneClick (OC) can be exported to be used with other users.

Environment

Release: Any version of Spectrum
Component:

Resolution

If you have created alarm filters for use with a single user these can easily be exported and then applied for use with other users in Spectrum.

To do this you need to do next:

- open the "Users" tab in the OneClick console
- select the user used to create the Alarm Filter.
- right-click and select  "Set Preferences"
- under "Alarms Tab", select "Alarm Filter"
- on the right side select "Export"

- Choose the Alarm Filter to export to a group(s) or to another user(s)
- in the upcoming window, select all group(s)/user(s) you want the Alarm Filter be added (using "ctrl" key for multiple groups), and press OK
- when checking again the group(s)/user(s) inside Preferences->Alarms tab->Alarm Filter->Set Alarm Filter..., you should see Alarm Filter just added.
- the users might need to restart the OneClick console to get the new Alarm Filters available for them.

Additional Information

  • Once a user has created a filter, it no longer inherits new filters from the group.
  • You will need to export the new filters to all the users.
