Issue/Introduction

You created a new workspace in the Modern UX and would like a way to restrict access to it.

Resolution

Currently, this behavior is not available.  

Custom navigation tiles do not currently inherit the dynamic visibility logic of standard tiles like "Projects" or "Ideas." Standard tiles are hard-coded to check for specific "Navigate" rights, whereas custom tiles are generally visible to all users once added to the menu.

To manage this, please consider the following:

  1. Manual Configuration: In Administration > System Settings > Navigation Menu, you can control whether a tile is shown or hidden globally, but this is not user-specific.
  2. Permissions at Destination: While the tile remains visible, the user will still be blocked from seeing the content if they lack the rights once they click the tile and arrive at the Classic UI page.
