vCenter Server alarm "MACHINE_SSL_CERT certificate in VECS is about to expire KB 385107" triggered despite the referenced certificate having already been replaced

Issue/Introduction

• The alarm "MACHINE_SSL_CERT certificate in VECS is about to expire KB 385107" is triggered in vCenter Server.
• The MACHINE_SSL_CERT has already been replaced and is no longer nearing expiry.

Environment

vCenter Server 8.x

Cause

The default alarm configuration does not have a reset condition checking for the certificate no longer being near expiry. 

Resolution

• Manually reset the alarm to Green and monitor for it to retrigger. 
  • If it does, open a support case with Broadcom support for further assistance.
