Issue/Introduction

During the MICS SAS Conversion process, the MICSLS1 job fails with a U0998 abend. The following error message is found in the SASLIST output:

ERROR! This entry does not have valid specification

The error typically occurs while the job is scanning a member in the format cccLMODV or cccPMODV (where ccc is a three-character component code).

Cause

This issue occurs when the MICSLS1 job attempts to scan configuration members for components that are not licensed at the site.
The SAS conversion checklist scan expects valid specifications for licensed products, and it fails when it encounters these members
for unlicensed components in the parameter library.

Resolution

Follow the steps below to identify and remove the unlicensed members causing the conflict:

  1. Identify the Component: Review the SASLIST output from the failed MICSLS1 job to determine which
member (cccLMODV or cccPMODV) was being processed when the "invalid specification" error occurred.
  2. Verify Licensing: Confirm that the three-character component (ccc) identified in Step 1 is not licensed for your site.

  3. Remove Unlicensed Members: Use a dataset utility or ISPF to delete the identified cccLMODV or cccPMODV
    member from your sharedprefix.MICS.PARMS library.

  4. Resubmit: Resubmit the MICSLS1 job.
