cluster probe not getting deployed or starting on RedHat 9 - cluster plugin error

Issue/Introduction

You have deployed the cluster probe to Red Hat Enterprise Linux v9.x and the following behavior is observed:

• probe appears to start briefly then turns red 
• no log file is created
• The folder /Nimsoft/probes/system/cluster/ does not contain any files
• Double Clicking on the probe in Infrastructure Manager returns an error: "Could not find any Cluster plugins for RED HAT ENTERPRISE LINUX! Please check the probes documentation for more informaiton."

 

Environment

DX UIM - Any Version
Cluster probe - 3.73 or prior
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.x or Rocky Linux 9.x
Red Hat Pacemaker cluster

 

Cause

Compatibility - Red Hat 9 no longer uses "clustat" utility for cluster status and relies on "pcs status" command which is not yet supported by the probe

Resolution

The cluster probe through version 3.73 is only compatible up to Red Hat Linux/Rocky Linux v8 with Pacemaker Cluster.

As of April 2026, work is in progress to enhance the probe for v9.x but there is no specific ETA available at this time.
