Issue/Introduction

Running etautil commands do not return any operational details.

Environment

All Identity Manager

Cause

etautil may timeout before a long running operation completes

Resolution

1) Open a command prompt.
2) Run regedit
3) Navigate to the following: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ComputerAssociates\Identity Manager\Provisioning Manager
4) Select Edit - New - DWORD Value
5) Enter ETRUST_TIMEOUT as the name. Double click on it after adding and confirm that the Value data field is set to 0.

Note: ETRUST_TIMEOUT value of 0 disables etautl timeout. Instead it may be better to set some value (in seconds), which would allow long running operation to finish.
