Email Alert Links Not Directing to Alert Page

Issue/Introduction

In VMware Aria Operations, when utilizing VIDM accounts for authentication it may be observed that links to alerts do not direct a user to the alert page, but to the Home page of Aria Operations. 

Environment

VMware Aria Operations

Cause

Misconfigured System Access URL is performing improper redirects from the VIDM identity source page back to the Alert page for Aria Operations. 

Resolution

Configure System Access URL:

 

1. Log in to the Aria Operations UI.

2. Navigate to Administration > Global Settings.

3. Look for System Settings.

4. Edit the System access URL field.

   • NOTE: In multi-node setups, it is best to utilize a Load Balancer as this allows for a single streamlined FQDN to be configured for the System Access URL 
     • Configure Load Balancer
   • NOTE: If you do not wish to use a Load Balancer, configure each node's own FQDN as the System Access URL.
