Issue:
Within Unified Self-Service, you attempt to import a .LAR file. Instead of the operation completing successfully, you see an error message similar to the following: <Please see attached file for image>
Please note that, depending on the settings of your environment, you may see different or additional language codes at the end of the error message, based on the languages currently available in your environment.
Environment:
This issue has been seen in Unified Self Service 14.1 (Open Space 4.0), with similar issues in Open Space 3.0.
Cause:
The .LAR file is designed to work on all of the indicated languages and localizations, and will output an error if fewer languages are marked as available. Temporarily enabling all supported languages will permit the import to proceed. After the import completes successfully, you can return to your original language selection(s).
Resolution:
To resolve this error and successfully import the .LAR file, follow the steps below.
- Log in to Unified Self Service through the Control Panel link (accessible on the server where Unified Self Service is installed).
- Select “Portal Settings” from the left-hand menu, under "Portal".
<Please see attached file for image>
- Select “Display Settings” from the menu on the right, under “Miscellaneous”.
<Please see attached file for image>
- Locate the “Available Languages” text box. This field contains the localization codes for all languages that your environment currently supports. (Note that your field may appear different from the screenshot below, depending on which languages are available in your environment.)
<Please see attached file for image>
- Copy the contents of this field for later use.
- Replace the contents of the field with the following string:
de_DE,es_ES,fr_FR,it_IT,ja_JP,pt_BR,zh_CN,en_US,fi_FI,nl_NL,sv_SV,da_DA
- Save your changes, and attempt to import the LAR file again.
- Once the file has successfully imported, you can return to the Available Languages text box, and replace the contents with your originally available language(s). Alternatively, if you wish to have Unified Self Service available in all of the indicated languages, you can leave this field as it currently is.
Additional Information:
Importing .LAR files is done to modify the theme of Unified Self Service, as well as to restore functionality after updating. For further information on importing LAR files, and when to do so, please see the following documents:
