VMware Tanzu Platform Core

Issue/Introduction

When using Telemetry with Tanzu Platform for Cloud Foundry, data is not being updated in Incorta. When testing manually sending the data to telemetry with the command

sudo /var/vcap/jobs/telemetry-collector/bin/telemetry-collect-send /var/vcap/jobs/telemetry-collector/config/collect.yml

This fails with an error like so:

Error type: PROXY_AUTH_FAILURE

Details: Proxy Authentication failed - check proxy credentials

Environment

TPCF

Resolution

This error indicates an issue with the proxy in the TPCF environment is preventing the data from being uploaded. Specifically, please review the proxy configuration supplied to Telemetry in the Telemetry tile -> Telemetry Settings. Check both of the following sections and validate they have been configured correctly for your environment:

Determine if the telemetry tile should use default Ops Manager proxy settings, or define your own
Proxy Authentication (SPNEGO/Kerberos)

If you still face issues, please raise a case with Broadcom support.
