How to import an updated certificate into Aria Operations after replacing the certificate for Aria Operations for logs, which retrieves data using an adapter from Aria Operations

Issue/Introduction

After replacing the certificate for Aria Operations for logs, which retrieves data from Aria Operations using an adapter,
you must import the replaced certificate into Aria Operations.

Environment

Aria Operations 8.18.x
Aria Operations for logs 8.18.x

Resolution

1. Delete the Aria Operations for logs certificate imported into Aria Operations

1. Log in to the Aria Operations UI (https://ariaoperations_fqdn/vcf-operations/ui) using an administrator account.
2. Go to "Administration" -> "Control Panel" -> "Trusted Certificates".
3. Locate the relevant Aria Operations for logs certificate in the list.
4. If multiple Aria Operations for logs certificates are registered, make a note of the “Thumbprint” to ensure you do not delete the wrong certificate.
5. Delete the certificate.

 

2. Import the Aria Operations for logs certificate

1. Go to "Administration" -> "Integrations" -> Accounts".
2. Display the Cloud Account information for the Aria Operations for logs Adapter.
3. Click the "VALIDATE CONNECTION" button.

4. A “Verify and Accept Certificate” pop-up will appear, click the "Accept" button.

5. Click the "SAVE" button to save the cloud account information.

 

3. Verify the newly imported Aria Operations for logs certificate

1. Go to "Administration" -> "Control Panel" -> "Trusted Certificates".
2. Verify the newly imported Aria Operations for logs certificate in the list.

Additional Information

VMware Aria Operations requires importing the new vCenter Server Machine SSL certificate after the vCenter Server Machine SSL certificate is replaced or updated
