Issue/Introduction

Users may observe a discrepancy between the numerical event counts displayed on dashboard cards and the values shown when hovering over severity icons (Critical, Major, Minor).

  • The Card Display shows a specific count of items breaching a threshold.
  • The Mouse Hover (Tooltip) over the severity icon displays a different value or a rule definition (e.g., ">40").
  • This behavior is consistent across all severity levels: Critical, Major, and Minor.

Environment

All supported NetOps Performance Management release

Resolution

This behavior is by design and does not indicate a data mismatch or synchronization issue.

The two fields serve distinct operational purposes in the UI:

  1. Card Display Count: This is a live counter representing the actual number of devices or items currently breaching the defined threshold.
  2. Tooltip Value: This is designed as a quick-reference guide for the threshold rule itself. It reminds administrators of the failure criteria (the threshold limit) without requiring them to navigate to the threshold configuration menus.

Additional Information

This UI design allows network administrators to quickly identify how many devices are failing while simultaneously confirming the criteria for failure through a simple hover action.
