Issue/Introduction

Please create an enhancement request to add a feature to APMIA System Edge that will be able to pull CPU & Memory utilization for (Unix / Windows) services and processes.

We have had multiple teams asking for this enhancement so they can setup alerts on specific services / processes when they are using too many resources. At the moment we can only setup alerts for overall system utilization.

Resolution

For UNIX, Look into into other cpu & memory related metrics under SystemEdge|{$HostName}|Process|{TABLE:ProcessName} and SystemEdge|{$HostName}|Application|RunningSoftware|{TABLE:hrSWRunName}?  Also, checkout the host monitoring Top Process Metrics and/or customizing host monitoring to pull additional systemedge CPU & memeory metrics specific for the services and processes to monitor, e.g.

Host Monitoring Linux 1
Host Monitoring Linux 2

For Windows, there are equivalent sysedge metrics that the customer can utilize to monitor CPU and memory utilization for applications and processes.
