Issue/Introduction

Within the Dell PowerVault Manager or the Storage Manager, you can designate another user as an 'admin' user if you need to either promote another user or you want to delete an existing admin user. 

Resolution

Dell ME4 Series Storage:

  1. Log in to the PowerVault/Value Manager as an admin user.
  2. Select the Action button.
  3. Select System Settings.
  4. Select Manage Users.
  5. Add the "Manage" role to the user you want to promote.
  6. Delete any other users necessary.  NOTE:  You cannot delete the user that you are currently logged in as.

Dell ME5 Series Storage:

  1. Log into Storage Manager as an admin user.
  2. Select Settings > Users
  3. Edit/Add a user
  4. Select the "Manage" role to the user you want to promote.
  5. Delete any other users necessary.  NOTE:  You cannot delete the user that you are currently logged in as.
