• Determining whether a VxRail vCenter Server is an internal or external deployment is essential for establishing support boundaries and clarifying whether Dell Support should be engaged during troubleshooting.

Environment

VMware vCenter Server 8.x

Resolution

• Log in to the vSphere Client.
• Select the VxRail Cluster from the inventory and navigate to the Configure tab.
• Under the VxRail section, select System.
• Click the Actions drop-down menu and observe the available options:
  
  • Internal (Embedded) vCenter: The option "Convert to External vCenter" will be visible in the menu.
  • External vCenter: The option "Convert to External vCenter" will be missing.
