Question:
I am upgrading to z/OS 2.2, will I need to apply any CSM 6.0 or Datacom/AD 14.0 maintenance for CSM 6.0 to be compatible on z/OS 2.2?
The z/OS 2.2 compatibility matrix for CSM does not reflect any necessary maintenance, however, the CA Datacom/AD 14.0 component shows ptf RO80056.
Please clarify if RO80056 (along with all its pre and coreqs) needs to be applied for CSM to be compatible with z/OS 2.2?
Environment:
z/OS 2.2, CSM 6.0, Datacom/AD 14.0
Answer:
It is not necessary to apply ptf RO80056 to the CSM 6.0 platform in support of z/OS 2.2 for it is specific in addressing an abends0C4 in module DBENQPR when a
Datacom MUF is not XCF enabled and running in SMP mode. However, by default, the CSM MUF is XCF enabled so the RO80056 ptf (and all its pre and coreqs) do not
need to be applied to the CSM 6.0 environment.
CSM 6.0 will run in a z/OS 2.2 environment without the need for any specific maintenance.
