Access right(s) needed to support OData access authentication from PowerBI

Issue/Introduction

A user in the administrative security group (all rights) can authenticate via the OData source from PowerBI.

Take that user out of the administrative group (reduced rights) and they can no longer authenticate via the OData source from PowerBI.

Which access right(s) are required to support that authentication?

Resolution

Steps to Configure OData Access (Clarity SaaS):

1. Log in to Clarity PPM as an administrator.
2. Navigate to Administration, then under Organization and Access, click Resources.
3. Select the user(s) responsible for OData administration.
4. Navigate to the Access Rights tab and click Add.
5. Search for and grant the following access rights:
   • Data Warehouse OData Service - Navigate: Allows users to open the Data Warehouse OData Service page.
   • OData - Access: Enables the user to access the Data Warehouse via OData and act as a trusted connection.
6. Save the changes.
