Cluster Probe not working on Windows Cluster - cluster: InitializePlugin - incorrect plugin for this cluster (windows_mscs.dll)

Issue/Introduction

The cluster probe is unable to start on a Windows Cluster, on the log the following messages repeats:

 

cluster: InitializePlugin - incorrect plugin for this cluster (windows_mscs.dll)

 

After 20 retries the log will show the following message will show on the log and the probe will be in Error state:

 

cluster: Could not connect to the cluster with the configured plugin (windows_mscs.dll) after 20 retries; terminating.

 

Environment

This applies to any version of UIM with any version of the cluster probe.

Cause

This issue is caused when the Cluster service is not activated on the cluster where the probe is deployed. 

 

Resolution

On the System where the probe is deployed open the "Services" and verify if the Cluster service is Started.

If not, please start the service, after that restart the probe.

The probe should now work.
