Issue/Introduction

Installation of software on the ESXi host fails with a connection error. The system is unable to reach the host at the SDK endpoint: https://#.#.#.#/sdk.

Environment

VMware NSX

Cause

The ESXi host configuration in NSX was tagged with a decommissioned management IP address (#.#.#.16) as per the below example screenshot, newly added working IP (#.#.#.61)

Resolution

 

• Identify the ESXi host within the NSX management interface.

• Remove the decommissioned IP address tag from the host configuration (Configure NSX > Host details).

• Update the host configuration with the correct management IP from the active subnet (#.#.#.61) as per the above screenshot.

• Retry the software installation to verify connectivity to the SDK endpoint.
