Resolution

APM 10.8 SP2 can be used with the PostgreSQL 9.6.x server release used in SP1. Testing has confirmed that the MOM and Collectors can successfully point to the existing database version after the APM schema is upgraded.

Impact on User Interfaces

• Classic Workstation & WebView: These interfaces will continue to function normally as they retrieve data directly from the local database.
• APM Team Center (ATC): Users may experience issues or limitations within Team Center, as this UI has a higher dependency on specific PostgreSQL data structures and performance enhancements found in newer database releases.

1. Use the specific upgrade JAR files (GEN.zip) and documentation (Doc.zip) provided for the SP2 transition. Both files available on the support download page.
2. Perform the upgrade in a non-production (lower) environment first to verify that all critical dashboards and views in both the classic UIs and Team Center meet operational requirements.
3. While this configuration is supported for the upgrade, future database-specific issues may eventually require a full PostgreSQL server upgrade to maintain long-term stability and support.
