Issue/Introduction
During an Instructor Led Training (ILT) session, use the VMware Lab Platform Instructor Console to redeploy or reset a student lab.
Prerequisites:
- Instructor role assigned by an Administrator
- Active class session with enrolled students
- Access: Instructor Interface
Resolution
Warning: Redeploying restores the lab to its original state, discarding all student changes.
Follow these steps to redeploy or reset a student lab:
- Log In to the Instructor Interface
- Open your browser and navigate to your organization's VMware Lab Platform URL.
- Example: labplatform.broadcom.com/eduilt/instructor/{class_id}
- Enter your Organization name and instructor credentials, then click Continue.
- Open the Instructor Console and Locate the Student
- After logging in, you will land on the Instructor Dashboard.
- Click on your active class to open the Entitlements view (student tile roster).
- Locate the student's tile and click the ⋮ vertical ellipsis menu.
- Select Explore Console in New Tab.

- Redeploy the Lab from the Student Console
- A new tab opens showing the student's active lab console.
- In the top-right corner, click the ⋮ vertical ellipsis menu.
- Select Redeploy from the dropdown.
- Confirm the action when prompted. The lab will begin rebuilding immediately.

- Wait for Redeployment to Complete
- The lab shuts down and rebuilds from scratch. This takes 30–40 minutes.
- Monitor the student tile status from the Instructor Console.
- Once complete, the lab returns to its original initial state and the student can resume.
