How to upgrade CA Datacom/AD 11.0 SP04 to AD 14.0 which is being used with CA-11 ?

Issue/Introduction

Introduction: 

I’m running CA DATACOM/AD 11.0 SP04  with CA-11 and need to upgrade to CA Datacom/AD 14.0 . Can you help me with this ?

Environment:  

z/OS

Instructions: 

First read the CA Datacom/AD 14.0 README file RI61958 .

There are a number of solutions that you need to have applied before starting the upgrade .

It is recommended to install all available CA Datacom 14.0 maintenance .

CA Datacom/AD 14.0 does not use a Datacom SVC anymore but now uses PC CALL modules DBPCCPR and DBPCSPR .

Those modules are installed via CAIRIM and that requires that CAMASTER is running on the LPAR .

 

Steps that you need to run are :

1) perform a new installation for CA Datacom/AD 14.0 :

After running the SMP/e jobs , run AD 14.0 INSTJCL :

AXRIM01

Installs the PC CALLS.

AXAPFADD

Is a CA SYSVIEW example to dynamically add libraries to be APF listed.

 

AXCUS01

Has all the customization for the CA Datacom/AD MUF.

AXNEW01

Allocates and populates all the datasets needed by the 14.0 CA Datacom/AD MUF.

AD14STRT

Is the sample JCL to start the MUF.

AXIVP01

Is a sample install verification JOB.

 

2) when you are ready to switch over from AD 11.0 to 14.0 run AXPOR02 .

Both the 11.0 and the 14.0 MUF must be up when you run AXPOR02 .

If AXPOR02 completes successfully then shut down the 11.0 MUF and start CA-11 using the Datacom/AD 14.0 CUSLIB/CAAXLOAD .
